Reviews

This is by far the most humorous piece I've read in a while! The more I read, the more it made me think of what it would be like reading the script for a new show entitled "Dragnet meets Andy Griffith!" The writing is flawless, full of wit and quite entertaining.~Scott Wittenburg,  The May Day Murders.

He writes with such a dramatic edge with ample comedy relief that the reader is compelled to just keep reading. Reading his work is effortless. This is a definite page turner. He’s a brilliant writer!~Demetriace Moore, Rhythm of the Streets.

Excerpt

What a long, strange day this had been. And my shift had just started. The boredom of eight uninterrupted hours would be a welcome relief. It was then I realized Ben Whitekiller was standing at the front of his cell. I actually couldn’t see him. But I knew he was there because I saw his hands grasping the bars. He just stood there, holding the bars. Not moving. Saying nothing. Just standing. Why was he there?

He wanted something. He knew I was sitting at the jailer’s desk and eventually I would see his hands. All he had to do, if there was something he needed, was ask…He was trying to hook my attention. In the academy we had learned about the sort of people who end up in prison. About two-thirds of inmates fall into one category called by various names: sociopath, psychopath, extractive personality, pathological liar, character disorder, promoter, con artist. These people, we were warned, did not have a conscience—didn’t feel things like guilt or duty or empathy. We were cautioned that they would study us and find our weaknesses to get us to respond in certain ways to suit their purposes. Never assume, we were told, you are beyond being manipulated by them.

So, I asked myself, was Mr. Ben Whitekiller one of those people? Was he going to try something with me? I spoke loudly enough that I knew he could hear me. “Mr. Whitekiller? Do you need something?”
