About
Olivia Vernon has thought a lot about the concept of soul-mates. All her life, she has been waiting for someone to appear, dreaming of him, and convinced if he exists at all he’s probably living in a different time zone. She wasn’t that far from the truth.
Alden Scott was one of the lucky ones, or so he thought. He found his soul-mate and was glad to trade in his bachelor days for a life of matrimonial bliss but fate, the Fae, and an irritated goddess had other plans. Little does he know that a simple stroll along a garden path one summer night will complicate his life more than he could ever imagine.
Alden Scott and Olivia Vernon are about to find out just how powerful the bond of two souls united can be when they find A Love Out of Time.

“Would it be too much to ask for a hand out of this?” he asked with a wry grin on his face. Trying to keep her mirth from bubbling back to the surface, she came to the edge of the pool reaching out her hand to help him. As soon as he grasped her hand, she knew what was going to happen. Perhaps it was the mischievous smile he gave her or perhaps the knowledge of what she’d do in his stead. In any event, feeling him tug her into the pool on top of him she had one of those – duh – moments where she truly doubted her intelligence. This was the oldest trick in the book and she fell, literally, for it.
Splashing water into his face, she growled, “Oh you, you…you are in some kinda trouble buster. I had to get this dress specially made.” Then she remembered one of the reasons she had gotten the dress made rather than buying a vintage dress. “Damn, my cell phone and my car keys!!” Reaching in the hidden pocket she pulled out her sodden phone and keys. “Guess the key-less entry isn’t going to work tonight…” She leaned over to kiss his cheek but noticed that look was back on his face. “What? I’m not really mad. It will be a pain to replace them but it’s okay.”
Alden swallowed his fear and asked, “Where am I?”
“What do you mean, ‘where are you?’ – where do you think you are? You are in a reflecting pool in the formal gardens at Lindsay House.”
“Maybe my question would be better phrased as when am I in a reflecting pool at Lindsay House,” he said in a strained voice.
“When?” she asked, confused by the emphasis he’d placed on the word.
“Please, you have to tell me – it may sound odd – but please.” A chill went down her spine that had nothing to do with the water temperature. The timber of his voice was familiar to her; a sensation like déjà vu was sweeping over her. I know him, she thought, I know him well. He is my…my what? But that wasn’t possible, she had never laid eyes on him until tonight, she was sure of that. One did not forget a man who looked, or kissed, like that.
“Olivia, please answer my question. What is today’s date?”
Her chill increased to full-blown shivering, “It is Saturday, May 26th 2006.”
Alden was quiet as he helped her out of the pool and wrapped his arms around her. Holding her tightly, his chin resting on the top of her head, he whispered, “For me, the year is 1877.”
