About
Mortals, Gods, and a Muse is a fanciful romance that asks some wonderful questions: what if you were Sherry Duncan, successful romance novelist with a bad case of writer's block, have decide to take you imaginary muse on a cruise--to a romantic island? And what if you meet someone who could pass for an ancient Greek god, a would-be lover who was rich, who could cook and who only had eyes for you? And what if your life suddenly became more full of intrigue and romance the lives you write about?
Reviews
I wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoyed your book Mortals, Gods, And A Muse. WOW, that was too KEWL, and I fell right in love with Xander in that book (I could just picture his dark, Greek good looks and manners). The setting was absolutely perfect with his big boat on the water! I loved the very fine meals that Xander prepared for Sherry (Anchovy and Lamb), in addition to the wonderful fine family wine that he served. I loved the way that he doted over Sherry and pampered her to the hilt...OH MY...what woman wouldn't love that! All of it was so romantic. And, to top it all off, your little muse, "Star" that kept appearing was adorable. And, as for the ending of the book, I think it was quite appropriate, (spoiler removed).GOD Bless,Pam Webber
Excerpt
His lips moving toward that devilish smile again brought me back.
Save grace, “Did I miss something?”
“No. Did I?”
“Why would you want to keep me around?”
“That is something we will find out together.”
“What if I want a better answer?”
He took a deep breath, “My family believes in fate.”
“You think I have something to do with your fate?” I asked.
“Honestly, it is a possibility. Never before have I been so attracted to someone so quickly.”
Run. My legs refused to move. He’s talking attraction. He’s talking futuristic. Run!
“You look scared. Which is why I did not want to answer that but you did ask.”
“I did and you answered honestly.” Hello? RUN!
“Yet, you have not run off to a forgotten meeting this time.”
“I’m sending the message and nothing is responding.”
“Your body overriding your brain. If that is what it takes to keep you here, I will have to work on keeping that body happy.”
RUN! My heart started moving like my brain. I found it hard to swallow.
“This evening, will you dance with me?”
I swallowed and tried to open my mouth, only a slight whine came out.
“I scared you more.” He looked ashamed. “I have no plans of kidnap, rape, or anything else your brain is going through.”
My voice finally worked though it sounded like a mouse. “There are other things my brain can worry about.”
